At far too early in the morning I’m flying out to Winnipeg and from there to East Selkirk for the Games. The early hour, long layovers, and game of chance that is flight schedules are worth it. In addition to the Games, a type of event I’ve enjoyed all my life, I have a chance to see friends and colleagues, enjoy some fencing, and enjoy those conversations that happen between pools, over meals, and after the day’s competitions or classes.
I am not bringing any students to compete this year, but I am hoping to next time.
